Last weekend we went to visit some friends who live in the country side. It was like 1.5 hours of train from Paris. They were a couple, who we meet and have dinner together time to time. This house they moved in since 9 months ago would perfect for 2. We had lunch in their garden of cos, it was the last time we can actually eat outside in this time of the year! lucky us!
well the meau of that lunch was Foie Gras. SO NICE! then followed with a tranditional french dish Blanquette de Veau , and finished by a nice homemade tarte aux pommes.
we went for a walk to the lake close to the house. Then we saw the goose! During that 15 mins we stayed beside the lake, there were at least 3 groups of people who came and fed the ducks and the gooses, the family, the old couple and little kids. They came with bags and bags of bread, old or new. These animals were huge!!!! They had been stuffed up all day long !!! Suddenly everything become clear to me... i guess this is how one day people decided to eat up those obese animals and discovered the delicious sick livers inside them!
this is my version of the history of foie gras.
